We will explore bully prevention via social media. We will discuss food and nutrition, fashion and etiquette, leadership and time management. We demonstrate and practice how to properly answer a telephone, how to be encouraging, and how to make informed decisions. We will write thank you letters and letters of inquiry. We will use expressive art techniques to include scrapbooking and journaling as a way of reflecting where you are as students and where you desire to go in life. Engage the Imagination
Written by Administrator
4-H is one of the most well known youth development organizations in the country. With over a century of history and experience, today’s 4-H program is a youth organization committed to building outstanding citizen leaders with marketable skills that will succeed in today's global society. Through its many hands-on projects 4-H offers limitless opportunities that engage the imagination of youth. Photography, cultural heritage, animal science, and robotics are only a few of the project choices available to 4-H youth. There’s something for every child whether he or she lives in a rural, suburban or urban community. Opportunities available to 4-H members enable youth to:
Master skills to make career and life choices.
Connect to communities and learn to give back to others.
Mature in self-discipline and responsibility.
Learn to better understand themselves.
Become independent thinkers.
Develop lifelong friendships and long-term relationships with caring adults.
However, volunteer leaders are the keys to our success in the North Carolina 4-H program. If you are interested in making a difference in the life of a young person and becoming a club leader, or just have a few hours to invest, we’ve got challenging and fun jobs for adults and teens.
Come find how you can engage the imagination of youth by contacting Doug Price at 919-560-8295 or at dprice at durhamcountync dot gov.
